Scaling organizational agility: key insights from an incumbent firm's agile transformation

Purpose This paper aims to examine the key challenges experienced and lessons learned when organizations undergo large-scale agile transformations seeks answer question of how incumbent firms achieve agility at scale. Design/methodology/approach Building on a case study multinational corporation seeking scale up agility, authors combined 36 semistructured interviews with secondary data from organization analyze its transformation since early planning period. Findings The results show develop successfully integrate agility-enhancing capabilities sense, seize transform in times digital rapid change. findings highlight can be established initially divisional level, namely accelerator form center competence, later prepared scaled across organization.
